Hey there!

I’m Billy, a quantum physicist and the author of this blog.

A few years ago I began dabbling in science communication where I used fun concepts in pop culture to explain real physics phenomena! I’ve also recently incorporated some of my own research into my site for other scientists to enjoy.

I completed my PhD in 2023 where I studied the spin interactions of molecular materials in optoelectronic devices. I’m now working in the field of Quantum Computing where we use single atoms to build quantum processors in silicon – a groundbreaking technology and exciting field to be in!

Outside of work, I’m an avid adventurer and insatiable thrill-seeker. I enjoy hitting the surf, motorcycling, playing football, travelling all over the globe, and reading spy novels. I love meeting new people and learning about their passions in life, so feel free to write to me about your interests!
